Scope and preparation

Give the preparation work to the crew, with a clear boundary.

Full packing prepares the agreed household contents room by room. Partial packing reserves professional work for selected rooms or categories while you prepare the rest. Kitchens, books, china, framed photographs and collections can create much more work than the bedroom count suggests. Show open cupboards, wardrobes, pantry, garage and basement contents in the survey.

Packing protects the item through lifting, carrying, stacking, restraint and vehicle movement. Dense books need manageable cartons; fragile glass, shelves, frames and exposed surfaces need compatible protection and support. Custom crating and art handling follow their own item and journey review.

The crew labels, photographs and lists sealed cartons so the inventory can be found by room, contents and identifier. You receive the agreed inventory at handover. Set aside passports, medication, keys, daily work equipment and personal valuables before the preparation starts.

Full packing

We prepare the agreed contents throughout the home. Identify storage areas, collections and remaining everyday items in the survey, rather than assuming each room contains a standard number of cartons.

Partial or fragile-only packing

You handle the agreed self-packed group; the crew prepares selected items or rooms. Tell us before loading day if any self-packing is unfinished so the working plan can change.

Box unpacking

Opening selected cartons and placing their contents on suitable surfaces is optional paid labor. Furniture unwrapping is part of delivery; these are different stages.

Organizing and finishing

Final cabinet, drawer and shelf placement follows your directions under a separate organizing scope. Handyman work, hanging and packaging collection are individually selected tasks.

Preparation and receiving

Keep the last night usable, then make the first rooms usable.

A studio or one-bedroom local move may fit preparation, loading and delivery in one day when the actual contents and access allow it. A large collection or restricted working window can require a separate packing visit even in a small home. Larger homes usually benefit from discussing a preparation day before the moving day.

Prepare less-used contents first: spare linen, decorations, seasonal clothing and books. Leave a named last-night group for beds, breakfast, bathroom needs, work and children’s familiar belongings. The household decides that group; the crew should not guess which toy, charger or outfit must remain accessible.

Use written room and contents labels. Color can support the plan, but a color alone does not tell a receiver which room or carton should open first. Separate storage destinations, multiple delivery addresses and first-opening items before loading. At the receiving home, place the furniture before cartons occupy every usable surface.

Consider two adults leaving an upper-floor downtown apartment with books and a full kitchen. The actual floor, stairs and loading position need a survey; a neighborhood description cannot establish those details. Completed cartons need a place that leaves the shared entrance usable.

A separate preparation visit can finish less-used belongings while work equipment and the first-night set remain available. Receiving labels identify priority kitchen and linen cartons. Limited unpacking can create a usable first evening without opening the entire shipment.

Cartons and inventory

Choose cartons from the contents, then price them explicitly.

A room that looks modest can contain many shelves, drawers and fragile objects. Estimate the packing list from those contents rather than an expectation of twenty boxes. Books, dishes, hanging clothing and shaped décor require different containers and preparation.

Company-supplied cartons are charged separately. Packing is charged for working time. Moving blankets, shrink wrap and tape carry no separate material charge under the current company terms. Specialist protection and custom crates need their own reviewed scope and quote.

Self-packed cartons need closure, useful labels and a disclosed contents group. Tell us about fragile or valuable items and any damaged container. Ordinary packaging does not automatically satisfy a lender’s or separate insurer’s packing specification.

Unpacking and placement

Unpacking clears the carton; organizing decides the final place.

Unpacking opens the agreed boxes and lays the contents on suitable surfaces. Organizing places belongings in the cabinets, drawers and shelves you choose. A smaller return crew can be easier to direct once the main furniture is placed and you are ready to decide where everything belongs.

Prioritize beds, everyday kitchen items, bathrooms and working spaces. Keep surfaces available and identify boxes that stay sealed for storage or later rooms. Review small fittings and paperwork before the packing paper is discarded.

Full packing can substantially increase the budget because it adds a separate job before carrying and transport. Compare packing labor, cartons, specialist work, any preparation visit, moving time, optional unpacking and separate packaging collection. A package label does not turn every finishing task into an included service.

Packaging and finishing

Collect the packaging after the contents and small parts are checked.

Flatten empty cartons and group paper and plastic for the separately priced collection. Keep a clear path while the household settles in. Packaging that still holds fittings or belongings should remain outside the removal group.

When final placement reveals an unwanted old item, make a new approved removal list rather than mix it silently with cartons. Organizing, handyman work and collection can be coordinated as selected stages when their scope, access and dates are agreed.

Can I book only the kitchen or fragile pieces?

Yes. Partial packing can cover named rooms or categories while you pack the rest. List dishes, glass, books, artwork and collections individually; tell us before loading if any self-packing remains unfinished.

Is a bedroom count enough to estimate packing?

No. Open cupboards, shelves, drawers, closets, garage and basement contents determine the work. A small home with extensive books or fragile collections can need more preparation than a lightly furnished larger home.

Can packing and moving happen in one day?

Sometimes. A modest local inventory with workable access may fit one day. Larger contents, restricted hours or specialist pieces can justify a preparation visit. The schedule is based on the reviewed work, followed by loading and delivery.

How can I use the home on the last night?

Choose a named last-night group before packing: bedding, breakfast items, bathroom needs, daily clothing, work equipment and children’s essentials. We can prepare less-used contents first and leave that group until the agreed stage.

Are cartons and packing materials included?
