Move your household between states or to Canada with a clear delivery plan. Choose direct delivery with a dedicated truck and the same crew, or a smaller consolidated shipment with a wider arrival window. Your written flat rate covers the agreed inventory, access and selected services.
The delivery window starts after pickup and loading are complete. Packing, access and any storage stage are planned separately.

Start with the household
Plan the journey around two usable homes.
A long-distance move joins several tasks: prepare the contents, get them out of the first property, transport them and make the receiving rooms usable. A departure date is only one part of that plan. Keys, building hours, a person who can accept delivery and the belongings you need while traveling affect the choice of service.
We arrange household moves to US and Canadian destinations from our served pickup areas. A furnished temporary home and a small selected shipment can work with consolidated delivery. A complete household going to an empty home may benefit from a direct dedicated journey. The two options have different crew arrangements and delivery flexibility.
Send both addresses, your full item list and the dates that are firm. Include garage and basement contents, stairs, elevators, the loading position and any gated approach. Explain a closing, lease ending, additional pickup or building appointment while the written plan can still accommodate it.
A long journey within one state uses the applicable in-state household-moving rules and pricing basis. Tell us whether the route crosses a state or national border; the mileage alone does not establish an interstate flat rate.

A smaller shipment does not establish a fixed discount. Compare actual quotations for the complete work and the receiving flexibility you can accommodate.
Loading first, then the delivery clock
Use the window to plan life between addresses.
Packing, loading, travel and unloading are separate stages. The delivery clock starts only after pickup and loading are complete. A city-to-city driving reference cannot reserve an elevator, establish a truck route or guarantee a border-processing time.
For consolidated delivery, a suitable nearby domestic route can use up to 30 days; Florida and Canada use up to 60 days; California uses up to 90 days. Other long routes have individually agreed windows. The Canada window applies to a shorter border crossing as well as a long western Canadian journey.
Keep essential medication, keys, passports, customs papers, daily clothing and important work items with the household. A consolidated plan needs essentials for the full possible wait. At delivery, an authorized receiver needs access, the room plan and a usable contact method.

Choose the model for the household’s real constraint.
New England · Boston to Portsmouth
When keys and the stair route matter more than the distance
An upper-floor Boston apartment is ready to leave, but the Portsmouth key handoff is later in the day. Record every stair return and the furniture entrance; a sofa passing through the ground-floor door does not prove it will turn at the next landing. Identify sealed cartons, contents still in use and the legal truck position.
Direct delivery has an illustrative 1–2-day window after loading. Same-day or next-day receipt may fit a suitable smaller job with workable access, but a short road journey cannot guarantee an afternoon building slot. The receiving key holder needs a contact method while the household is traveling.
A smaller shipment can instead be reviewed for consolidated delivery, illustratively up to 30 days on this nearby route, when the household can receive flexibly. Resolve the condition that could change the plan—keys, stair fit, packing completion or curb access—before committing to the connected dates.
Hudson Valley · Poughkeepsie to Orlando
Make the new home usable without losing the full inventory
A Town of Poughkeepsie household has bedrooms, garage contents and a treadmill to move. They travel separately and want the new home usable soon after they arrive. Direct dedicated delivery fits when the receiving home, gate arrangements and delivery hours are ready; the illustrative travel window is 2–3 days after loading.
Include the garage in the inventory. The treadmill’s model, dimensions and both carrying routes determine the gym-equipment work to put in the quote. A room plan helps the crew place beds and work furniture where the household needs them. Book any box unpacking according to the confirmed receiving arrangement.
If the family is already in furnished accommodation and needs only selected belongings, a suitable consolidated Florida shipment may fit the up-to-60-day window. Keep essential clothing, medicine, documents and work equipment with the family throughout the possible wait.
Maine to Canada · Peaks Island to Stratford
Connect the island pickup, mainland transport and customs
A household leaves Peaks Island for Stratford, Ontario. The pickup needs its own island arrangement: identify the accepted vehicle or freight method, operator booking and responsibility at any landing transfer. The island’s actual acceptance conditions are part of the move plan.
The mainland journey has an illustrative direct window of 1–2 days after the agreed pickup and loading are complete. A suitable Canadian consolidated shipment can use up to 60 days. Neither reference reserves a sailing or removes the island handling stage; receiving possession and street access at the Ontario property still matter.
Prepare the household-goods documents for your circumstances, including accompanying goods and goods to follow where applicable. Keep the accounting receipt and border papers with you. If a sailing, possession date or receiving arrangement changes, agree who can hold or receive the load and which additional work and costs arise.
Ohio to California · Mansfield to Los Angeles
Set the receiving rooms before a cross-country departure
A Mansfield household is moving into a Los Angeles condominium with bedroom furniture, a writing desk and living-room pieces. Confirm the approved entrance, truck position, moving hours and person who can receive the shipment. Direct delivery can provide a coordinated journey, illustratively 4–5 days after loading.
Decide which rooms should be usable first and who can approve placement. Include any specialist desk or exercise-equipment operation by model and dimensions. Furniture unwrapping is part of delivery; removing contents from boxes is optional work selected before departure.
A suitable smaller shipment whose owner can wait may use California’s up-to-90-day consolidated window. Compare handling, receiving flexibility and any storage stages against the actual quote. Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona and Utah each need their own agreed consolidated window.
Know what your quote covers
One plan for transport and the work around it.
The agreed interstate flat rate is the final price for the reviewed shipment, access and selected services. Extra driving or delivery time alone does not increase it. Added belongings, changed access or additional work need a separately agreed written change.
Packing and materials
Choose full packing, selected rooms or fragile categories, and any preparation visit before pickup. Company-supplied boxes are charged separately. Moving blankets, shrink wrap and tape have no separate material charge.
Furniture and specialist pieces
Basic furniture disassembly and reassembly use moving labor time, with no separate basic assembly surcharge. Custom crates, complex furniture, gym equipment, pianos and other specialist operations need their own reviewed scope and quotation.
Delivery and finishing
At the destination, pieces are checked against the photographed inventory, unwrapped and placed to your room plan. Optional box unpacking is charged for working time. Organizing, mounting and packaging removal are separate selected tasks.
Protection and documents
Review the protection and consumer documents applicable to the journey. For interstate household moves, use FMCSA’s consumer guidance. A Canadian shipment and an in-state move each need the documents relevant to their own circumstances. Give us the destination building’s certificate-of-insurance requirements before scheduling delivery.
When the dates do not line up
Give the shipment a usable place to wait.
A closing forecast or contractor date does not establish permission to unload. When the new home is not ready, first compare changing the pickup date with authorized staging, an agreed truck hold or storage and redelivery. Include who controls the goods, who can accept them and the condition for the final delivery.
An agreed one-night truck hold has an additional charge of $250 per small truck or $300 per large truck for that night. A longer or uncertain wait needs separate terms. Warehouse storage, handling, access and redelivery have their own costs and arrangements; storage is not automatically free under either delivery model.
Compare the complete alternatives. Holding a small selected load, sending the whole home into storage, and keeping a direct shipment for a confirmed overnight gap have different handling and living costs. Set the final room plan, contact person and access instructions before releasing goods toward the receiving address.
Cross-border household moving
Have the goods-to-follow records ready before the shipment.
For a move to Canada, prepare the inventory and personal-effects documents required for your status. CBSA’s moving guidance describes separating goods accompanying you from goods to follow, and keeping the Personal Effects Accounting Document and receipt for later arrivals.
Canadian eligibility and restrictions determine the customs treatment. A short drive across the border still needs the proper goods records and receiving arrangement. Customs processing and the actual truck route are reviewed before the delivery schedule is confirmed; there is no fixed border-completion promise.
Keep passports, accounting papers and personal essentials with you. Identify the person who will receive an unaccompanied shipment and make sure the inventory and instructions remain consistent through any agreed handover.

An authorized receiver accepts delivery. Each piece is checked against the inventory, unwrapped and placed, followed by the extra work selected in the plan.

We arrange long-distance household moves from our served pickup areas to destinations throughout the United States and Canada. Your plan covers the actual origin and destination addresses, inventory, truck access and receiving dates. A local, interstate and Canadian move each uses the documents applicable to that journey.
What is the difference between direct and consolidated delivery?
Direct delivery uses a dedicated truck and the same moving crew at pickup and delivery. Consolidated delivery combines shipments on a coordinated schedule and suits smaller loads with flexible arrival dates. We agree the receiving arrangements for either option in writing.
When does the delivery window start?
After pickup and loading are complete. Packing time and the time before loading finishes are separate from the delivery window.
Can you provide next-day or same-day delivery?
Next-day delivery may be available for a shorter direct route within a confirmed 1–2 day receiving plan. A small nearby job may allow same-day delivery if loading finishes early and travel, access and unloading hours permit. We confirm the schedule in writing for your move.
Does my agreed interstate flat rate increase if travel takes longer?
No. Extra driving or delivery time does not change an agreed interstate flat rate for the unchanged shipment, access and services. Added belongings, changed access or extra services need a separately agreed written change. A move entirely within one state uses its applicable pricing rules; a long drive alone does not make it an interstate flat-rate move.
Is full packing included in the flat rate?
Packing is included only when it is listed in your written scope. Specify the rooms and items to pack, any packing visit before pickup, cartons, optional box unpacking and packaging removal. The estimate identifies the work and materials included.
What size shipment is suitable for consolidated delivery?
Consolidated delivery is especially worth discussing for a shipment up to roughly 300–400 cubic feet. That is a guide to a small load, rather than a minimum volume or automatic cutoff. We assess your item list, photos, route and handling needs.
What are the consolidated delivery windows?
From the end of pickup and loading: within 30 days for a suitable nearby route, within 60 days for Florida, within 60 days for Canada and within 90 days for California. Other long routes need their own agreed window. The Canada window applies even to a relatively short cross-border journey.
Does the California consolidated window apply to every western state?
No. The 90-day window applies to California. Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona and Utah each need an agreed delivery window. Florida’s 60-day window also does not apply automatically to other southern states.
Will the same crew handle both ends of a consolidated move?
We promise the same crew at both ends for direct dedicated delivery. For consolidated delivery, we agree handling and receiving arrangements separately; the crew may differ.
What should I prepare for a move to Canada?
Prepare the inventory and household-goods documents required for your status, including goods accompanying you and goods to follow where applicable. Check current Canada Border Services Agency guidance and confirm the clearance steps before pickup. Allow for border processing and receiving access; clearance has no fixed time promise.
How do I plan a long move within one state?
Identify both addresses and the complete shipment, then confirm the pricing basis that applies to that state. An in-state journey follows its household-moving rules even when the distance is long. For example, Pennsylvania’s estimate rule requires an estimated cost of services at least 48 hours before the move unless you agree in writing to shorter notice. The written plan identifies the applicable charges and delivery arrangements.
What happens if the new home is not ready to receive the furniture?
We can discuss a later pickup, authorized staging, an agreed truck hold or storage and redelivery. Agree the terms before moving: these options can add handling or storage costs. Free storage is not included simply because you choose direct or consolidated delivery.
What access information do you need at both properties?
Send photos of the driveway or street loading position, entrance, stairs, landings, corridors and elevators. Tell us about delivery hours, gates, parking requests and who is authorized to receive the shipment. We check the truck and full carrying route before agreeing the price.
What should travel with me instead of in the shipment?
Keep keys, passports, customs papers where applicable, medications, daily clothing, essential work items and irreplaceable personal documents with you. For consolidated delivery, pack essentials for the full possible wait. Mark everything travelling separately before loading starts.
Who receives my belongings if I arrive later?
You can appoint an authorized receiver who has keys, permission to use the property and the agreed room plan. Give us their contact details and building instructions before departure. If nobody can accept the shipment within the delivery window, arrange a different pickup date or a paid holding/storage and delivery stage in advance.
